Kayaks
New Zealand is most often a synonym for hiking. However, in order to imbibe the genuine island atmosphere, any stay on water is equally a part of a New Zealand experience. During a cruise on a kayak, you will see New Zealand from the outside… A view of the coastal scenery from a gulf, a bay or a fiord is usually fascinating. With a little bit of luck, you will encounter the inhabitants of the water realm – herons, cormorants, gannets, albatrosses or perhaps dolphins, seals and penguins. You can also cruise in many localities. Our most favourite ones include Marlborough Sounds where you can find a maze of large and small gulfs, often protected from wind and waves. You can find other popular areas in the north part of the North Island or on the opposite end – in the south part of the South Island in fiords and in the lakes in the Fiordland National Park. Of course, the success depends on suitable selection of the season of the year and on the current weather forecast but you can leave this up to us; we will take this into account when preparing your itinerary. And do not be afraid if you are a beginner – you can cruise individually or as a member of an organised group with a guide. The ships are safe; we personally experienced some difficult situations and the stability of sea kayaks proved to be excellent.
