Islands

In the waters of New Zealand, there are many other islands at various distances from the coast, several ones of which are now natural sanctuaries. All predators and rodents have been exterminated on these islands and the original New Zealand animal species, which are unable to live on the main islands in the company of the predatory introduced species, were put on them. Some of the natural sanctuaries can be visited but the number of visitors is usually limited and therefore timely booking is a necessity.

Stewart Island is the third largest island of New Zealand and a place popular with hikers. Besides several-day hikes, one can go on a cruise by ship for one or more days, visit a natural preserve for birds, a shell farm, take a ride on a kayak, fish or just simply relax.

In the vicinity of the centre of the North Island, there is another island of volcanic origin – the only volcano that is still active. One-day trips to this volcano are regularly organised. For the purpose of your itinerary, we will gladly acquaint you with the specifics of the individual islands and, after mutual consultation, we will recommend one of them, including the activity that can be performed on the chosen island.
